SNOW CAMP + CHILL FACTORE CELEBRATE SIX YEARS OF IMPACT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE NORTH WEST

SO, WHO ARE SNOW CAMP AND HOW DOES CHILL FACTORE PLAY ITS PART TO HELP THEM TURN YOUNG LIVES AROUND WITH THE POWER OF SNOWSPORTS?

Well first things first, Snow Camp are a game-changing snowsports youth charity who, for the past 20 years, have been using the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers and broaden horizons for over 20,000 young people all over the UK.

Through their fully accredited year-long programme journey, delivered in 3 stages outside of school times throughout the year, Snow Camp’s dedicated staff team deliver invaluable life-skills, qualifications, mental-wellbeing support and career opportunities for young people who need the positive opportunities the most; the vast majority of which have had a tougher start to life compared to many others.

On the back of the charities 20^th anniversary year in 2023, Snow Camp are taking things to even greater heights with more industry placements, apprenticeships, volunteering opportunities and positive exit pathways than ever before; working closely with their delivery partners (Chill Factore and The Snow Centre included) and their wide-ranging supporter base to offer new, exciting and tangible opportunities for young people to progress their careers in the snowsports industry.

Thanks to the support from Manchester-based online investment platform AJ Bell, Snow Camp launched its North West programme at Chill Factore in 2018, with a sell-out first year of programmes thanks to the backing and belief from everyone involved. With new connections made with youth groups across the region, Snow Camp, AJ Bell and the Chill Factore came together with the same shared goal - to engage, support and empower as many disadvantaged young people as possible from across Manchester and the surrounding areas.

Since then, the charities impact in the North West has gone from strength to strength, with Snow Camp’s Head of Snowsports & North West Programme Manager Morv Bett driving the programmes forward in close collaboration with the Chill Factore team.

In 2024, now with an established and comprehensive year-long programme journey on offer annually, culminating with a life-changing experience in the mountains during the winter season, Chill Factore are proud to call ourselves the home of Snow Camp North West; playing our part to ensure as many underserved young people as possible have access to this amazing facility, sport and lifestyle we all love so much.
